Our Story

queensyard is a British restaurant where the layout is inspired by the rooms of an English country home. An all-day dining destination that transitions from the daytime grab-and-go to a low key evening wine bar in the café, light lunch in the Kitchen, afternoon tea, after-work drinks in the Bar to the Dining Room's cozy but elegant dinner service.

Led by D&D London, a restaurant brand known for creating inspiring spaces, queensyard's design was curated under the discerning eye of CetraRuddy architects. queensyard is perched in full view of the Grand Plaza at Hudson Yards with an extraordinary floor-to-ceiling glass wall with amazing views of the park, the Hudson River, and of the Culture Shed and Heatherwick Studio’s Vessel sculpture. Sarah Moore, a well-respected American artist, has created two murals, entitled St. James Park and Somerset Countryside, as a nod to the tradition of British landscape painting.

Executive Chef Owen Sullivan has created a menu that focuses on British cooking but features influences from both sides of the Atlantic. A touch of British flair with tweaks that appeal to New Yorker's tastes, featuring dining room dishes that include ox cheeks hash with whipped sunchokes and cheddar crumbs, whole roasted crab-stuffed sea bass and an amazing dessert of warm doughnuts with salted pecan caramel and raspberry ripple ice cream.

The cocktail bar is a destination in its own right and boasts a British line up of modern as well as classic gin-based cocktails. Head mixologist, Jeremy Le Blanche champions house-made syrups infused with local and seasonal ingredients. The contemporary cocktail list includes a British favorite appropriately named ‘Queen’s Fashion’,
a mix of Queens Courage Old Tom Gin, English Breakfast tea and Meyer Lemon.

The Kitchen is situated at the heart of the restaurant and the menu is rich in classic British and sharing dishes. Kitchen favorites include venison scotch egg with Cumberland sauce, crispy fingerling potatoes with a mushroom and Cheshire cheese ‘hot pot’, steamed mussels in a cider & lovage broth and an old English trifle.

queensyard café is your new favorite place for everything including a morning and lunch time grab-and-go, a seated breakfast and lunch and at night time transforms into a wine bar with light fare.
